The Only Time For A Pre-Tied Bow Tie

The other week I was given a hall pass by my girlfriend and I caught up with old friends to get some Mexican in Sydney's sleazy Kings Cross. These infrequent opportunities are a chance for myself to dress up although these days there is less of a reason to since we ultimately are not trying to gain the attention of the fairer sex. In fact, these days we merely do it as an exercise in aesthetics. The chap to my right is married with a child on the way. He knew that this dinner was one of the few remaining evenings when he could wear his Tom Ford sports jacket before his soon to be newborn son used it has as an expensive tea towel for his bile.

For this particular evening I chose a pre-tied ruby red silk and cotton velvet bow tie we named Le Baron. It is a diamond point and it suited the pink shirt and navy window pane jacket combination I went for. As for the evening, it was all over too soon and the following morning it was back to basics again.
